I enjoyed this story and was always wanting to know what happened next. I got held up in the middle of the book because of other things in my life making me not have time to read for awhile. It was in no way a reflection on the book and it's pull to finish it.I loved the way the way new information kept cropping up little by little. I enjoyed this way of story telling better than everything happening at once and the characters fighting their way out of it. I think it built the suspense and think it is what compelled to keep reading and wanting to know more.
There were some sad parts, but I think these are things that make a great story. There were some characters and things they did that made me want to scream, but again it is things like this that make a great story.
That being said, I did notice a few editing errors, or parts in which the grammar wasn't exactly the same as how I would have learned it in the US. However, I know that the author lives in Canada, so this may be the reason for some of the slight differences. These weren't enough to detract from the story, I just changed it in my head as I read it, so that it made sense to me.
I don't really want to sit here and pick apart every thing I liked and disliked individually because I don't want to leave any spoilers in this review. I just urge others to read it because you won't regret it!!!
I also can't wait for the next one. Remember how I said the author introduces new story pieces little by little. He left one new piece that keeps me craving to know more right at the very end of this one!

I think this author has talent and I'd be interested in reading future books, but this one comes across as a first book. The plot is good, his introducing more and more details as the books goes on is good, and the problems and solutions do make some sense. But the book does need basic editing and the shifting of POV is not always logical. He 'throws away' what could be an intense moment near the end when, no, that's too much of a spoiler. An ok book.
If you like werewolves and zombies, this book is well worth the read. I like this writer's style and will be keeping an eye out for more from him.
Jamie has created a new twist on the end time. An exiting page turner that will keep you glued to the book.
Loved this book, it was interesting i never read such a book before. I would recommend this book to all my friends. Hope ther is another.
Interesting take on the Apocalypse . Different from any other post apocalyptical story that I have read. Great characters too !
Your story was very entertaining, sadly the incorrect word choices, misspellings, improper punctuation, and simple typographical errors made it a struggle to get through.
I bought this book after reading a post on the internet site "The Smile Movement". I wasn't sure what to think as I never heard of Jamie Heppner! Well let me tell you I was so happy I had the day off...I could not put the book down! The twists and turns, the characters, the descriptive writing, the actual story line are amazing! Please ignore the petty reviews! If you are a Walking Dead fan and Twilight series you too will not be sorry you bought this book! I became each character while I read and that now a days in some fiction stories is hard to do! I will tell you I have placed an order for the rest of his books as well as additional copies of THE EVENT for Christmas presents! So in ending if you want a book that keeps you in suspense take the time to order. You won't be sorry!
