An original short story by writer and filmmaker Shad Clark.
Born to an industrialized supply line of universal organ donors, Ziggy was bred to look like an ordinary piglet even if his eyes, lungs, liver, pancreas, kidneys, intestines and heart are, more or less, human. But unlike all the other cloned pigs, Ziggy is born with human hands and feet. This makes him the unknowing subject of an experiment in which he’s raised as a normal child in a house with no mirrors. When he finally sees himself for what he is, he sets out to find his mother, convinced that only she could love such a creature.
LITTLE BOY PIG eBook Shad Clark
This is quite a tale!Yes, it shows the dangers of science unchecked. Absolutely, it tells of using life we consider "beneath us" for our own aims. Unquestionably it deals with questions of ethics, morality, animals vs. humans, and certainly about what makes sentient beings. All of these issues worthy of thought and debate.
But I can't help but think that what Ziggy, himself, is really looking for is family and a sense of belonging in the world. He naively believes that love is in the physical heart of his mother. This, of course, backfires miserably. Unfortunately love turns out to be a bit more esoteric and youngsters, of any kind, are not going to be equipped to understand this.
In fact, sometimes love is best expressed by someone who will do whatever it takes to protect and try to make dreams come true. Even if everything doesn't end up in a classical happily ever after.

LITTLE BOY PIG eBook Shad Clark Reviews
I enjoyed the story very inspiring ending. It was intersting all the way through no dull areas. Your verbiage was uniquely comical in some places. This would be a good read after recess.
This book is worth the read. It may be short but it's heartwarming. However, I found myself wishing the story didn't end where it did.
The author's writing style could stand to be a bit more fluid, but otherwise this was an absolutely gorgeous little story worthy of future re-reading.
Generally I shy away from animal books. They are depressing and sad. When I read this book I was able to see that these books are needed. I have suggested this book to a number of people.
An unusual story, well written and engaging. I liked the premise and thought the author handled this strange topic very well. I'd read more by this author.
Wow! A truly heartwarming tale that still managed to break my heart. I could see something like this really happening, but without them letting Ziggy live. They'd just dissect the poor boy. I love to read more of Ziggys story. Yep, I'd highly recommend this story.
This short depicts a future world where genetic engineering and organ farming are commonplace and quickly presents a moral and ethical dilemma. The dilemma presented is one that has been debated to some degree already, after we cloned a sheep. This story however takes that dilemma to a new level, good stuff. Short stories are hard to do well this one does it well.
